 WARMTH, STYLE AND COMFORT Mar 11, 2010
AFTER LOOKING AT HUNDREDS OF COATS I DECIDED ON THIS COAT IN MEDIUM FOR MY WIFE AND SHE COULDN'T HAVE BEEN HAPPIER.SHE LOVES THE LOOK AND SAYS IT KEEPS HER VERY WARM WHICH IS NO SMALL FEAT BECAUSE THE COLD WEATHER CAN MAKE HER VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.

I got it for my mom. She likes it. Right length for her, just what she wanted. It kept her warm during long windy -4F winter.

Warm, good quality coat and looks just like the picture. Note: the fur trim is liable to fall across your eyes unless your hairstyle has some volume to fill out the back of the hood. My main complaint is that the zipper doesn't always go smoothly; it can take several tries to get it right. The design of the zipper allows you more leg room if you like, but the downside is that you have to align the parts correctly (they don't interlock by themselves) before you can zip up your coat.

I'm a misses size 6, but the small was extremely tight with just a thin turtleneck. The small is truly a size 4. The coat is extremely well-made and the real fox fur trim was very nice. I really dislike the look of faux fur, and that was one of the reasons I ordered this particular coat. The pockets are not very useful for keeping one's hands warm...pockets on an angle would be much better. I will not be reordering it in the medium.

I LOVE this coat. I live in a place with cold, very windy winters, and while I had some down parkas, they were too warm just for going from the house to the car (and too short to keep me warm on cold car seats!). The Thinsulate in this coat is perfect; it keeps me quite comfortable in the cold and wind, especially with the length going to my knees, yet doesn't overheat me when I wear it inside. Plus the Thinsulate makes it thinner and lighter, which is good as I don't like looking like the Michelin Man when wearing a warm coat. It is well-sewn and styled beautifully; the princess seams in the back are very flattering. The zipper is two-way, which is smart as the coat is so long, but a feature which some other long zippered coats lack. The fur trim is super cute, but removable if you'd rather not wear it. I love the belt, which snaps rather than buckles, although as the fabric is rather slippery, I might end up inadvertently losing it. I plan to tack it to one of the belt loops.
One word on sizing: after reading the other reviews carefully, I decided to get a size small because I wanted a close-fitting coat and I don't wear heavy sweaters under coats. I am a size 6, 5'7", and wear a size small in department store misses' sizing. This was the right decision for me and the coat fits me beautifully; however, it does seem to be a slightly smaller small than my other outerwear, so other buyers might want to be aware of this. If you're a size small who likes a little room or who wears chunky sweaters, go with the medium.
Truly a gorgeous coat. I am completely satisfied and happy with it; it was money well spent! I will wear it for years.
